A Space Trilogy: The use of Space Data within Financial Services
Working with the University of Strathclyde, join us for the second in our trilogy of space events that focus on the current and potential use of space data within the financial services sector.
In this session we will look at how space and satellite derived data is being used by financial services organisations to transform and enhance services e.g. insurers using GPS data to manage car insurance.
This session will be jointly presented by Rise, created by Barclays – The Home of FinTech. Rise supports startups and scale-ups to connect with technology, talent and trends to accelerate innovation and growth in the financial industries.
We will be joined by an international panel of experts who will demonstrate and share the latest market insight on how space data can be used within the development of financial service applications:
• Nicola Anderson is the Chief Executive of Fintech Scotland. Fintech Scotland brings together entrepreneurs and the financial sector to support the development of collaborative innovation across the fintech ecosystem. Nicola will Chair our second session.
• Dr Daniel Broby is the Director of the Centre for Financial Regulation and Innovation at the University of Strathclyde. Daniel will be discussing the use of satellite data within financial technology to aid and support sustainable goals and finance.
• Anu Murgai is the VP of Commercial Solutions at SpaceKnow. Based in New York, Anu will discuss how SpaceKnow provides actionable insight using the applied use of space data and machine learning.
• Robin Sampson is the Managing Director of Trade in Space. Robin will discuss how their products use satellite generated data to support coffee supply chain operations, including trade contract generation.
This event will be hosted live and interactive, giving you the opportunity to ask your questions to our panel of experts.
Conference details will be sent out approximately one hour prior to event start time.
