One area of networking I’m really passionate about is ROI – empowering people and businesses to be more strategic in their approach in order to improve their return on investment.
Although we all know networking is beneficial, and something we should do, it’s not always considered an investment or an activity that warrants a strategy. Oh but it does my friend!
In the latest 2 Min Networking Tip video I did some fast maths to demonstrate the potential financial costs of networking (take a look below…)
If you’re self employed, charge a day rate, or hourly rate for example this math can quickly turn into the 10’s of thousands of pounds annually, before you factor in additional costs of long-distance travel for conferences, hotels, taxi’s, tickets etc. not to mention marketing materials, branded swag or fancy exhibition stands!
Networking is an investment. There’s no two ways about it. The questions that come next though are:
- Exactly what are you investing (time, money, resources, staff)?
- What do you expect in return?
To help you figure out the answers to these questions for your own business I’ve written a free downloadable white paper on ‘The Art of Strategic Networking’ which includes interactive worksheets as well as loads of valuable resources to help you start improving your own return on investment.
You can download it for free HERE or if you’d like to have a chat about how I can help you get more from your networking activities (whether it’s through training, consultancy or just having a chat over a cuppa to offer some advice!) drop me a line at [email protected] and hopefully we can catch up soon.
Happy Networking!
