In March 2024, Ryder, in collaboration with private and public sector partners and an international research organisation, released a detailed research study examining the breadth and depth of innovation in the north east construction sector.

The research is the first comprehensive study of its kind to have examined not only advanced technologies, materials and digital expertise, but also the supporting research and educational infrastructure, which is essential to the growth and success of the sector.

Now, the steering group is bringing together key stakeholders from across the region to discuss and debate the outcomes and develop a roadmap for implementation.

The event will include:

· A keynote delivered by Helen Goodland, head of research at Vancouver based Scius Advisory, construction research specialists which led the NEECIE project

· Panel representing built environment business, academia, research and government

· Facilitated breakout discussion

· Identification of next steps for the region
