To celebrate World Environment Day and World Oceans Day 2024 we’re bringing together Rewilders from all over the UK to tell their stories, network with fellow rewilders and be inspired by two days of Rewilding Hope.

Join us for two days of Rewilding Hope as we bring together rewilders from across the UK to tell their inspiring stories.

EVENT DETAILS

Conference Date: 5th and 6th June

Day One: 5th June 9am to 4.30 pm

Introduction and Welcome: Sharon Lashley, Climate Action North and welcome from the Main Sponsor/Rewilding Britain

Keynote Speaker: Alan Watson Featherstone – Alan is an Ecologist, Rewilder and founder of internationally renowned rewilding charity Trees for Life. Alan will share his inspirational story of rewilding and hope for the future.

Complimentary Film Screening:- 5th June, 6.30pm to 8.30 pm.

On the evening of 5th June we will be screening “The Bough Breaks” a 70 minute film made by Mousehole Films about the extraordinary life of Alan Watson Featherstone who is joined by leading conservationists to tell the story of how we are the last generation to save nature. Trailer is below:-

Refreshments will be served at the film screening and there will be Q&A and networking afterwards.

Day Two: 6th June 9am to 4.30pm

Keynote Speaker: Sacha Dench Conservation Without Borders – The Human Swan “Rewilding Hope, Nature & The Unstoppables” – Sacha will tell her inspirational story of human resilience, rewilding and climate hope.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • Refreshments and lunch included
  • Exhibitors:- range of exhibitors will be present on both days showcasing products, services and projects.
  • Tickets:- This is 2-day ticketed event, no single day tickets are available. Delegates not able to commit to both days are permitted to share tickets with other staff members to attend on their behalf – please do let the organisers know for registration and check-in purposes.
  • Transport:- please do consider using sustainable forms of travel where possible including public transport and/or car sharing. (The nearest bus stop to Ramside Hall Hotel & Golf Club in County Durham is Ramside Hall, Carrville. It’s a 5 min walk away)
  • Carbon reduction:- Climate Action North will be rebalancing emissions from this conference by planting trees in our Trees for Life Community Grove https://treesforlife.org.uk/groves/climate-action-north-community-grove/
  • Food and drinks – the event will be vegetarian and vegan and gluten free options will be available on request – please inform the organisers of any specific dietary requirements
  • Single Use Plastics – The conference will be single use plastic free.

Note:– Climate Action North is a not-for-profit community interest company. All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards covering all conference costs, any surplus created will be reinvested back into Climate Action North projects and initiatives mobilising climate action across the North East Region and beyond.
